Local H.S. Battle of the Bands Contest Announced

Latham — September 11th — Today, Edward Murray President of Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York announced the first local High School Battle of the Bands contest, “JABB 2007” at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, sponsored by Time Warner Cable and Channel 103.1 FM.  The October 21st event will feature bands from area high schools competing from 12:00 noon – 6:00pm for the chance to appear on the Channel 103.1 fm “Big Break” and the opportunity to open for a live act at Northern Lights.  The event will also feature a post contest, benefit concert featuring renowned local artists, Dead Lift, Out of Control Rhythm and Blues Band and Origin all  beginning by 7:00pm after the winner is announced.   All proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement.

JABB 2007

This event will focus on 12 bands primarily consisting of local area high school students.  While all local high school age bands can apply 12 bands will be chosen to compete by the Talent Liaison Committee consisting of Junior Achievement board members.  Band sign up information is available at http://jabb.janey.org.
